Leroy A. Charping, age 81, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his home.
Born in Due West, SC on April 15, 1935, he was the son of the late T. J. Charping and the late Eva Arnold Charping. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years of service. He later retired from Orr Mill. He was a member of the Divver Masonic Lodge and a Hejaz Shriner. Leroy was a faithful member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Larry D. Charping of Anderson; a daughter, Marie Burdette and her husband Jody of Anderson; a step-daughter, Sharon King; a brother, Robert Neil Charping; three sisters-in-law, Judy Benson, Alice Charping, and Joann Charping; seven grandchildren, Tyler Bearden, Randall and Kim Floyd, Ann and David Charping and Jessica and Allan Burdette; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Roberta Charping; six brothers, Alvin H., David, Francis, Joe Edward, James Edgar, and Gerald D. Charping; and two sisters, Janie Estelle Chrisley, and Thelma A. Mitchell.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Dickson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors.
